Four summers after LeBron James made the infamous "Decision", teams in the NBA are once again wishing and waiting for LeBron James to pick them as his next destination as he enters the 2014 NBA free agency as an unrestricted free agent. GM's will surely be lining up and making their pitches with the hopes of convincing the best player in the planet to play for their franchise.
The big question now is whether or not LeBron James will stay with the Miami Heat with Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh. And if not where would he be playing next? Here are the latest reports and rumors around the league that will give us a hint on LeBrons next decision.
Sources with inside knowledge on LeBron's plans reveal that The King began "distancing himself" from Heat management last season. They believe that this is a strong indication that his decision is truly up in air. If this report is true, then Miami is in deep trouble.
There is also Heat power forward Chris Bosh's troubling comments on last season saying that it was not fun. This could be a sign that James wasn't comfortable playing with the "Big 3" after all as many would come to expect. Strike two for the Miami Heat.
"As free agency starts, James/Bosh/Wade plan to give Pat Riley a window to enact his plan on upgrading supporting cast, sources tell Yahoo" according to Adrian Wojnarowski.
This report from Wojnarowski tells us that LeBron is willing to wait and see what Pat Riley will come up with in terms of assembling the necessary pieces to make another championship run. Other teams will have to wait whether or not the Heat front office will be able to please James with some solid offseason moves. If the Heat fails to do so, Jame's can always play anywhere he wants for a max contract.
Then their are the Mavs and Pheonix who are patiently waiting if LeBron shuts the window on the Heat. Dallas has $26 million in cap space which means they can offer LeBron max moeny and have Monta Ellis, Dirk Nowitzki, and Tyson Chandler. They also have one of the best coaches in the league in Rick Carlisle and a passionate owner in Mark Cuban. Would these be enough to lure LeBron James?
Phoenix meanwhile, have enough salary cap space to sign both James and his buddy Carmelo Anthony. If the suns somehow manage to land Melo, the chances of James heading to Pheonix improves dramatically.
Will LeBron James stay in Miami? If not where do you think will he land next?
