Top 4 Things You Can Do with Google Android Smartwatches/Wear

By

Google's much anticipated smartwatches will be available starting this month. The series is packed with features that will help users become more productive. This is a quick look at the top 4 things that people can do with the new Google Android Smartwatches.

1. Messaging

-The Google smartwatch will allow users to read and reply to email and text messages without taking their smartphones out of their pockets. As soon as a message arrives, the smartwatch will vibrate to notify the user. Users can then respond to their messages by selecting either a pre-written message, or using voice dictation. Alerts are synced between smartphones and smartwatches, so if the user prefers to just type in a response, he or she can do so by using their smartphone.

2. Health tracking

-Android wear can measure the user's heart rate, track the steps, and many more. With this information, your Android Smartwatch can show the user a chart of their fitness history.

3. Answer calls

-Android wear allows users to use their smartwatches as miniature phones. When someone calls, an alert will appear on the user's smartwatch. This is useful especially when the phone is on silent mode and the user does not feel the vibration. A notification on their wrist would surely catch attention. From there, the user can choose to answer from the smartphone, or from the smartwatch's microphone. If the user does not want to answer the call, they can swipe left to decline, or tap a few buttons to send a prewritten SMS message, like "I'm in a meeting."

4. Commute information

-The smartwatch uses real-time traffic data to give the user information for their commute. It learns the user's daily routines, like what time they leave usually for school or for work, and what time they go home. It will then give the user info on how long your commute will take given how the traffic situation is.
