"Frozen" characters Elsa, Anna, and Kristoff, characters from hit Disney movie "Frozen," have been officially added to the cast of ABC's fairy tale drama "Once Upon a Time."
Anna will be played by newcomer Elizabeth Lail, and Scott Michael Foster (who played a role in college drama "Greek") will play Kristoff. The actress who will play Elsa is yet to be revealed.
TV Line reported that Anna's character in the TV series is "a fun-loving, fearless optimist who often gets herself into situations where she is in over her head, yet is able to triumph due to her resourcefulness and can-do spirit. She values her relationship with her sister Elsa above all else."
Kristoff, on the other hand, "is a hearty, salt-of-the-earth ice cutter whose sometimes-gruff demeanor can hide his deep love for Anna and her sister Elsa." He will be introduced in the series as just learning how to adjust to living in the castle.
The news was first revealed during the season 3 finale of "Once Upon a Time. In the final scene, a blue liquid turned into who looked like Elsa. The show then shortly posted on Instagram: "#Frozen is coming to #OnceUponATime."
The hit TV series' co-creator Adam Horowitz told E! News after the finale that they will not redo the movie "because we just don't feel like it's in anyone's interest for us to redo it."
"But what we are going to do, we're not ready to tell you. But what we can say is we're very aware of what we think makes this character from Frozen so special and we want to honor that and make sure that what we do is in the universe of everyone fell in love with this past year," Horowitz added.
The movie "Frozen," which stars Jonathan Groff (Kristoff), Kristen Bell (Anna), Idina Menzel (Elsa), and Josh Gad (Olaf), holds the record of being the highest-grossing animated movie in history.
