"Orange Is The New Black", at a drop of a hat, was rumored to be cancelling their upcoming third season and removing all the episodes on Netflix's website. Moreover, the Season 2 might just be pulled out unexpectedly by CEO Reed Hastings.
Drastic times call for drastic measures, indeed. Hollywood scoopers tried to find out if the news was just a hoax or not. According to The Independent, a source revealed Netflix's abrupt plan of shutting the hit series down. "We regret to inform Netflix members that Orange is the New Black has been permanently cancelled," the quote reads.
"Also, starting September 1st, 2014, past episodes will no longer be available for streaming on Netflix," the source concluded. Shall this be for real? Fans are off one's rocker by now. Apparently, Hastings received a lot of angry comments and bashful tweets recently regarding the issue.
Meanwhile, the show maker (EN) who started it all posted a confirmation on their site. Alas! The hit TV series - which garnered thirteen Emmy nominations - continues. The website had concluded that, "Empire News is a satirical and entertainment website."
"We only use invented names in all our stories, except in cases when public figures are being satirized. Any other use of real names is accidental and coincidental," the site explains. Despite their intention, I'm sure fans had been tensioned.
Laura Prepon comes back on "Orange Is The New Black as series regular.
Other news than the whole nine yards of that bothersome rumor says, Laura Prepon is coming back to the Netflix series. She'll be doing more buzz in the "women's jail" hit. Moreover, her character Alex Vause, despite intermitted appearances on the second season, will be exposed more on the third.
She told on US Magazine about her disgust on the hectic schedule she had lately. "It sucked because [show creator] Jenji Kohan and I wanted me to be in it more, but with the schedule, it didn't happen," she explained. "I was so bummed out. But I handled it, so I'm in every [episode] in season three. It is so good."
Prepon is speculated to have replaced Vee's presence. Vee (played by Lorraine Toussaint) died on the past episode. Reportedly, the reason for Toussaint leaving the cast is due to her ABC's "Forever" role.
Meanwhile, the upcoming third season of "OITNB" shall expose more highlights about the imprisoned women's dramas especially Piper Chapman and Nicky Nichols, who recently gets imprisoned.
No news of the Season 3's official premiere was revealed on the other hand. What are your thoughts and speculations about the next season?
