Things are looking up for the upcoming Xiaomi Mi-4 as China-based Xiaomi continues to be successful with its Xiaomi Mi-3 device selling 10 million units to date. More importantly, the company has been recognized by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. According to Wozniak, Xiaomi can compete in the US market especially if it continues to produce its quality of smartphones. If the company can create better units then it is possible for Xiaomi to be a top contender. The company has also released a new Champagne gold Mi-3 opening up more opportunities for the firm.
The Mi-3 continues to gain positive reviews with the sales serving as solid evidence to what Xiaomi can do. Once the company hit the 10-millionth mark, it also introduced the Champagne Gold series under the same product line. What is even more impressive according to analysts is that the Xiaomi Mi-3 has only been available to four regions: China, Malaysia, Philippines and Singapore. If the company decides to extend its offering to other parts of the globe then it can sell more units.
According to the announcement of the firm, Xiaomi has been ""working very hard to bring it to more countries!" Availability of the device to more regions will challenge leading players in the market and drive more sales. The Champagne Gold Mi-3 comes with 16B internal storage. Consumers can purchase it starting at $240 or RMB 1499.
The flagship MI-3 comes with the following features: 13MP primary camera, 3GB RAM, up to 64GB internal storage and 1.8GHz NVIDIA Tegra 4 processor. Xiaomi's president also posted a teaser on his Weibo account about the upcoming Xiaomi Mi-4. The uploaded hint features a device with the label "4" including a brushed metal finish. According to reports, the Mi-4 may also provide LTE support.
The Xiaomi Mi-4 will reportedly be released around July 22 but there are no details yet about target regions.
