NBA Free Agents 2014 News: The Best remaining guards in the free agency

By

The 2014 NBA Free agency is about to end. Summer League has wrapped up, and the rest of the league is moving to its yearly, short couple of months hiatus as players, coaches, and executives alike head out for vacation. The free agency pool, however, still has a handful of top-tier talent to offer. Here is a quick look at the 5 best remaining guards that are still available in the market according to rankings.

Eric Bledsoe - It's still a mystery why no team has offered Eric Bledsoe a contract this free agency. Even though he is a restricted free agent, its still worth a shot to try and find out if the Suns are really serious in keeping Bledsoe especially if its a max offer. The quick and explosive guard averaged 17.7 points, 1.6 steals, 5.5 assists, and 4.7 for Phoenix last season and he is still 24 years old and a lot of years left to further improve his game. The Suns guard is reportedly looking for a max contract and Phoenix is planning to give him the contract when they make an offer to Greg Monroe or a legit starting power forward.

Ray Allen - At 39 years old, Ray Allen is uncertain on whether or not he still wants to play for another year and add another NBA championship in his hall of fame career. But if he does decide to play, he still has what it takes to take a contender to the top. His clutch shooting and veteran leadership will prove vital to any team looking to make a run at an NBA title.

Jameer Nelson - At this stage in his career, Jameer Nelson might be looking on playing for a contender rather than a rebuilding team like the Orlando Magic. After the Magic waived him its surprising why no one has still offered the veteran point guard who has the ability to knock down the 3, manage a teams offense, and explode on his way to the rim.

Mo Williams - The former All-Star is reportedly being pursued by the Dallas Mavericks after the Trail Blazers continues to mantain a soft stance with the veteran guard. Williams is not is effective in scoring as he was before but he ca still shoot the ball and run a team. Was a key element in the Blazers bench last season but is reportedly looking for a bigger role in a contender.

Jordan Crawford - A young gunner who loves to shoot the ball in bunches. He is at best when he is getting his teammates involved and making plays with his athleticism like what he did during his days in Boston. The streaky shooter is completely system dependent when it comes to his team. Rick Carlisle in Dallas should prove an ideal scenario for him.
