"Game of Thrones'', the American fantasy drama adapted from George R.R. Martin's "A Song of Ice and Fire", brought diverse emotions on its fourth season, where Westeros was very much damaged from all the battles. Evidently, the show's expansion on its story arc and casts is vital; considering this, the production added nine new cast members on the show, in which they announced during the 2014 International San Diego Comic-Con happened last July 26.
San Diego Comic-Con, an international event where most TV and movie spoilers are announced, was a huge success. It was a highly anticipated event in which more than 5,000 spectators attended. Including the list of attendees were several famous "GoT" casts and creators; including Kit Harrington (Jon Snow), Sophie Turner (Sansa Stark), Gwendoline Cristie (Brienne of Tarth), David Benioff, D.B. Weiss, George R.R. Martin and many more.
New characters are as follows (inclusive of their past appearances):
- Alexander Siddig (Star Trek and Da Vinci's Demons) as Doran Martell -- the ruling lord of Dorne and older brother to the late Prince Oberyn Martell
- Toby Sebastian (newcomer) as Trystane Martell -- Prince Doran's son and heir to Dorne
- Nell Tiger Free (newcomer) as Myrcella Baratheon -- child of Cersei Lannister and the late King Robert Baratheon, though in truth her father is Cersei's own brother, Jaime Lannister
- DeObia Oparei (Pirates of the Carribean: On Stranger Tides) as Areo Hotah -- the long-serving captain of Doran Martell's palace guard, renowned for his loyalty and his longaxe.
- Enzo Cilenti (Prisoners Wives) as Yezzan -- an extremely wealthy slave trader before Daenerys Targaryen outlawed the slave trade.
- Jessica Henwick (Silk) as Nymeria ("Nym") Sand -- daughter of an Eastern noblewoman who brought Nym up to be cultured, graceful and deadly with a whip.
- Rosabell Laurenti Sellers (The Whistleblower) Tyene Sand -- the daughter of the late Prince Oberyn Martell by Ellaria Sand, his final paramour. Tyene equipped with twin daggers
- Keisha Castle-Hughes (Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith, Whale Rider) as Obara Sand -- the eldest bastard daughter of the late Prince Oberyn Martell
- Jonathan Pryce (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl) as the High Sparrow -- He came to King's Landing to serve those forgotten by much of the world - the poor, the downtrodden and the infirm - and quickly amassed a large following. His fellow believers have swarmed over the city, ministering to the lowest and decrying the corruption of the highest.
During the conference, the D.B. Weiss revealed they were sometimes rejected on their proposal to film on some of their prospect place setting. A quote from Weiss, reported by The Guardian, reveals, ''We sometimes lose locations and we lost a location this year because the owner didn't want "Porn of Thrones" to be filmed there."
Obviously, the astounding novel 'A Song of Ice and Fire' - written by award-winning author George R.R. Martin - was part of "GoT's" huge hits. Martin was questioned during the conference on where he gets his inspiration in writing such beautiful characters and storyline. In parts, he said: "When I'm writing from the viewpoint of the characters, I draw on myself. To make a character come alive, you have to look inside yourself. I am large - I can have multitude and a lot of characters can be pulled from one."
Moreover, he told that "a lot of the plots are stolen from Scottish history, which is a particularly bloody history; events like the Black Dinner and the Glencoe massacre, which we borrowed for the Red Wedding.''
