When Apollo Nida, husband to "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" star Phaedra Parks, was arrested for multiple counts of fraud, we all knew it would have a monumental effect on the show.
But what people may not have realized is that the arrest may affect Parks just as much as it does Nida.
Nida will be serving eight years in federal prison. But his wife, Parks, has just announced that she'll be leaving "The Real Housewives of Atlanta" for a brief period of time, to deal with the current crisis in her family and to spend time with her two sons.
However, another source claims that Parks' reason for leaving the show (temporarily, of course), is a little less wholesome. According to a separate set of rumors, the real reason Parks is leaving is to disassociate herself from her husband, who has allegedly been cheating on her with Kenya Moore. Nida has apparently continued to shoot scenes for "Real Housewives" with Moore, even as he and Parks were on the outs, which certainly would not help their relationship.
Nida offered his own take on the matter, and while he's clearly quite angry with his wife, he seems to have accepted that he's made some rather large mistakes recently.
Says Nida: "I mean, my wife didn't even show up for my f-----g sentencing so you know, I'm still kinda, I'm still salty about that..."
Later, the "Real Housewives" husband added:
"It's all on me. A lot of people could be held accountable but it's all on me now. We gone pay back the $1.9 million. By the grace of God we were able to get it down from $114 million...You know, I love my kids. Coming from a non-father non-mother background, I feel most sad that I let my little man down. But you know, at the end oft he day it is what it is and you must go and pay, you know, contribute to the piper and do what you gotta do and come on back and be graceful and keep your head high."
Nida has been served with jail time, but it has not been announced when his sentence will begin. We're sure to hear more about this story in the coming weeks.
