The Mentalist Season 7 premiere, a police procedural drama, is announced to have an official title, Enstarz reports. Slated to return on 2015, the CBS TV series' first episode will be titled "Orange Blossom Ice Cream."
According to series creator Bruno Heller, this will be the last season of the series and fans should expect action-packed episodes.
The plot of the first episode is still not revealed, but reports claim that it might revolve around the introduction of Agent Michelle Vega (Josie Loren). According to previous reports, the actress had to undergo training as preparation for her role as an FBI agent.
Spoilers also revealed that the plot will potentially involve a love triangle. In other reports, it said that Loren's character Vega will be the potential love triangle to the romance of Patrick Jane (Simon Baker) and Teresa Lisbon (Robin Tunney).
Agent Vega is also rumoured to be clashing with Patrick Jane as the two have different methods in their procedures as agents. Vega is said to be an agent who strictly practices according to the books and that she is the type who seeks to impress her bosses.
Heller did not disclose any spoiler for the show's final series. He said, however, that the team wants to provide proper closure to the romance of the two lead characters.
He referred the 13-episode run as an "encore" season. Heller told The Hollywood Reporter, "The purpose of an encore is to get people leaving the theater happy and giving them what they want and hitting your marks as strong as possible, so that will be the intention."
The filming for the 13-episode run will start July 30. "The Mentalist" is directed by executive producer Chris Long and written by Tom Szentgyorgyi, also an executive producer.
