Haha Pinche successfully raised $10 million during its Series A funding round. Its backers include Innovation Works and Sequioa Capital.
Haha Pinche is a Chinese carpooling application that connects drivers and passengers, with the hope of easing road congestion and pollution caused by emissions. The application signs up drivers and validates their registration details. Then, it lets passengers schedule their rides as well as payments to the respective car owners.
While it is not the first application of its kind in China, Tech in Asia said it looks to be the most promising. It is also backed by a local insurance company, which gives it a little more influence compared to the competition. The application was launched in January 2014.
