New spoilers for the upcoming season of "The Vampire Diaries" claim that Stefan Salvatore (Paul Wesley) will flee Mystic Falls following the death of his brother Damon (Ian Somerhalder). As reported by Fashion & Style, Stefan will be so overcome with the fate of his brother that he will leave the town.
In the recently concluded Comic-Con at San Diego, Paul Wesley teased fans who attended "The Vampire Diaries" panel. He told fans to expect a whole new side of his character, Stefan Salvatore.
The apathetic Stefan will not only leave Mystic Falls, but also his ex-girlfriend Elena Gilbert (Nina Dobrev). The death of Damon made Stefan numb and he seemed to avoid things that remind him of his brother.
Meanwhile, Caroline Forbes (Candice Accola) will be working hard to heal her friends although she feels like everything that she does is a failure. The young vampire will struggle to bring her friends back together.
While struggling to help her friends, Caroline will be facing personal difficulties in the next season. It was previously hinted that Caroline is having romantic feelings towards Stefan. Some reports suggested that Stefan will soon recognize Caroline's feelings for him, sparking a new romance in the show.
However, some viewers have been theorizing that Caroline will also come closer to Enzo (Michael Malarkey). The last season showed Caroline and Enzo teasing each other sarcastically, making some viewers assume a developing romance between the two.
Meanwhile, writer and producer Julie Plec, revealed that some of the "The Originals" characters might be coming to Mystic Falls. Plec explained that the show's executives and scribes have always been "talking about different paths" that may lead to character crossovers. No further details, however, were given by Plec.
Plec also revealed at a recent interview that Tyler (Michael Trivino) will become good "buddies" with Elena. "Something that we're real excited about is seeing Tyler in a new dynamic with somebody. One of the fun things that's happened over the four months is that he and Elena have actually become buddies, like really good buddies. So seeing him have like a girl-friend, like he used to have with Caroline before they got together is really enjoyable. And then seeing him kind of have the hots for somebody, not Elena, but have the hots for somebody and develop a romance for him. He hasn't really had a romance since Caroline, you know and they've come back to a good place with each other, so it's time for him to find something for himself."
"The Vampire Diaries" season 6 will premiere on Oct. 2 at 8/7 on The CW.
