When Season 3 of Longmire ended, many bid farewell and already assumed that it was truly the end of the story, but like any other TV series that had a huge fan following, news has been floating here and there that a renewed Season 4 will be up and coming and maybe in the works soon. Amidst the possibilities, many audiences remain adamant if the beloved criminal drama would still remain afloat after the last season ended, after all, the story relied on the written books.

Many thanks though to author Craig Johnson because it seems that the dream of a series renewal could definitely be in the works as in an interview by Enstarz he allegedly brushes the issue aside and is said not being too worried about the possibilities of an upcoming Season 4. He is said to especially confident since the series still has 11 suggested books to refer to, all under his authorship - a considerable amount of material that could be used for the supposed upcoming new season.

True fans of the show may even find that at this point the show is staying true its usual routine as proven with Longmire Season 3 that started showing November of last year, later than what was expected. Some members of the cast were even supposed to have all agreed of a big possibility for a new season coming soon when they were talked to off the record.

The TV drama based from the Longmire book series of Johnson had huge ratings as its first Season ran. Unfortunately the show dipped in ratings during Season 2 but was lucky enough to gain back popularity with Season 3, so the rumors of Season 4 circulating comes as no surprise for Longmire fans.

Craig Johnson being an active part of the TV production has surely made the book to TV series adaptation become even more true to the Longmire book series. In case Season 4 comes into works, it will come as no surprise when Craig Johnson reprises his role both as author and TV series advocate.
