After reports of being pregnant and her surprising exit at this year's Wimbledon, American tennis player Serena Williams is receiving online support from coach and alleged boyfriend Patrick Mouratoglou and Twitter BFF Caroline Wozniacki.
Williams' coach revealed in an earlier interview that she was having a "difficult period" after rumors of her pregnancy started circulating the Internet. According to KpopStarz, Williams and her rumored boyfriend have not seen each other for the last two days before her Wimbledon 2014 loss, which has led to rumors that the couple's drama may have had something to do with her less than stellar performance. However, last week, Mouratoglou tweeted about Williams' win in the Bank of West tournament classic.
Williams' top form has been questioned ever since her disastrous campaign at the recent Wimbledon. According to Yahoo Sports, Williams' exit on Wimbledon was done in a "bizarre fashion" with her "appearing dizzy and bewildered during a Wimbledon doubles match with her sister as she struggled just to bounce the ball".
Serena Williams, who has been recently beaten by sister Venus Williams at the Montreal WTA final, is still considered tennis' top seed, Venus even praised her sister after the loss and said, "She's (Serena) number one. Nobody wants to play her. If you do, you have to play the match of your life." Williams have proven herself capable in court, which left many wondering what happened with her match.
Williams have also received support from fellow Wimbledon player Caroline Wozniacki. According to ESPN, Wozniacki, who has been considered by the top seed as her online BFF, invited Williams to visit her in Miami. Wozniacki reportedly invited Williams to visit her there, where the Danish player had advanced to the third round on Wednesday after defeating Klara Koukalova. "She was going to Palm Beach to train anyway. I was like, 'Well, stop in Miami for a few days,'" Wozniacki said.
Serena and Venus are expected to head into the US Open to compete.
