Last month, the Mirror reported that legendary F1 Driver Michael Schumacher is now able to communicate with his family by fluttering his eye lashes. The sportsman has been recovering from a medically-induced coma after his head was smashed on the rocks while skiing during the holidays last year, the tabloid said. Doctors had also confirmed that Schumacher maybe able to go home this month thanks to the progress of his rehabilitation.
As soon as he was airlifted to Grenoble's University Hospital Centre in the French Alps, Michael Schumacher was put in a coma to reduce swelling and pressure in the brain, according to Dr, Glen Bandiera.
Reports have suggested that Schumacher could now be able to communicate with his family, which include is wife Corinna and children, 17 year-old Gina-Marie and 15 year-old Mick. Schumacher could now purportedly communicate with his family by fluttering his eyelids.
In a bizarre turn of events, the man arrested for leaking Michael Schumacher's medical files was found dead in prison. The suspect was found hanged last Wednesday in his prison cell in Polizeigefaegniz Surich Police Prison, only 24 hours after his arrest, Daily Mail said. Multiple reports have stated that the suspect is employed with Rega, the helicopter transport company responsible in transferring Schumacher from Grenoble Hospital where he was first admitted after the accident to the University Hospital of Lausanne (CHUV) on June 16, 2014.
The suspect, who was not named, had denied all of the charges of attempting to sell the medical records to various media for an estimated amount of $67,000 or €50,000. The suspect worked as a manager in Rega and was subsequently tracked down by French prosecutors and police.
Meanwhile, Schumacher still has a long road ahead to recover from the accident. Although there is optimism, it has been believed that the sporting legend may not be able to return to his first love should he decide to come back to the sport. Moreover, the Mirror said that ahead of Schumacher awakening from his coma, his wife has remodeled their home in Gland into a medical facility to tend to her husband's long-term care.
