"Grey's Anatomy" will be coming back for its eleventh season soon, and producers have been calling it as the "Meredith season." Meredith Grey (Ellen Pompeo) will reportedly be dealing with a lot against husband Derek Sheperd (Patrick McDermott), who has been called away on a project in Washington, and will be introduced to her half-sister in the person of Margaret Pierce (Kelly McCreary).
Enstarz hints that this season will see Meredith and Derek not "in a good place" that the two might be heading to a divorce. Shonda Rhimes, however, was quoted that the fights, however, will not end in a bitter divorce, as multiple reports have been speculating. Carter Matt shared on the other had that Meredith's and Derek's career directions would nonetheless provide much drama in their marriage that it would definitely shake things up between them. The two characters fighting actually has her sign of approval, of which she said to Entertainment Weekly, "It feels very TV for people's marriages to end over easy things or hard things. I actually would like to watch a couple have a hard time in their marriage, and have it not be that that means their marriage is over. There's something really great about watching a couple have a mature marriage where stuff goes wrong, things are hard, and people try to push through it and figure it out."
Sounds like this season was rough but challenging for Pompeo and Mcdermott indeed.
On the other hand, Meredith and her half-sister Maggie, who is the new surgeon at Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, will reportedly have some poignant moments in the season. Latinos Post reported about a recent Instagram photo of Pompeo with her "sister from another Mister.' McCreary, who portray Pierce, also called the image taken as their "first family photo."
Rhimes said about the sister dynamics in the upcoming season, "It's literally always been layered into the story line. We can literally go back and pull out moments of the show and I'm excited to do so, and point out where it was talked about. It's not going to be so hard to do."
"Grey's Anatomy" will be back September 25 on ABC.
