The Foo Fighters had some interesting news for their followers, including the release of a new studio album, a TV series, and a UK tour that will start on August 17 at TribFest. The band has officially announced the title and release date of their new album, which is called "Sonic Highways," and is set for a November 10 worldwide release.

According to KpopStarz, the album can already be pre-ordered on the band's official website. The album will have eight tracks with titles, "Something From Nothing," "The Feast and The Famine," "Congregation," "What Did I Do?/God As My Witness," "Outside," "In The Clear," "Subterranean," and "I Am A River." Independent also confirms that the album art has already been revealed on Monday. The article likens the artwork to a "post-apocalyptic city scene depicting landmarks from each of the eight locations."

HBO will also be launching a documentary of the band this October. The documentary will show the Foo Fighters recording in eight different studios in the eight cities of Chicago, Los Angeles, Austin, Nashville, New Orleans, Seattle, New York, and Washington DC. According to KpopStarz, Foo Fighters revealed in their press release that there was a song recorded in each city and in every song there is a featured local legend. Independent states that some rumored guests on the album are Joe Walsh, Rick Nielsen, Chuck D, and Paul Stanley.

The article also adds that each episode of the documentary will delve into how each region and culture influenced musicians. "The series will not only show the recording process of the band but also will be showing the history of American music in the process," says the KpopStarz article.

The press release continued, "Dave held off on putting down words until the last day of each session, so as to be inspired by the experiences, interviews and personalities that became part of the process."

According to The Rolling Stone, Grohl originally planned to record the album in international cities, but it was financially impossible. The front man also added, "We're an American band. We wouldn't be the band we are if it wasn't for the cities here and their music."

"Sonic Highways" is the band's eighth studio album and will be co-produced by Butch Vig, the same producer of their previous album, "Wasting Light." Meanwhile, the show, which will also be titled "Sonic Highways," will have front man Dave Grohl as director. Watch out for the HBO TV series on the band's 20th anniversary on October 17. According to KpopStarz, the eight-part show will be aired until the new album is released.
