After Kevin Love had agreed to sign with the Minnesota Timberwolves in this year's free agency season, rumors are now claiming that the Los Angeles Lakers are planning to get Eric Bledsoe for the team. Bledsoe reportedly had become a promising trade because of his stalemate deal with the Phoenix Suns. KPopstarz said that should this be the case, an obstacle the Lakers have to overcome to make it happen is to have a viable player to trade with. Moreover, the site said that because of Bledsoe's injury history, the Suns are eager to get itself on the playoffs as it managed to get so close last year.
The Lake Show Life suggested that the Lakers would put up both Steve Nash and Jeremy Lin in order to make a salary match. Moreover, Basketball Insiders said that the Suns is concerned about not being able to have Bledsoe on the team for nothing of value as the player might take the one-year qualifying offer and would be an unrestricted free agent by next summer, and that the Suns have $19.9 million in its purse to work out a feasible trade that would allow them to acquire a viable player to help the team in the playoffs.
If a trade is going to work between the Lakers and the Phoenix Suns, Lake Show Life said Nash and Jordan Hill would have to work on their chemistry with the team they are currently with by showing interest as they move back to Phoenix Suns. Also, the Lakers should make sure that they follow the NBA rules regarding collusion. This means that there could not be any pre-agreement between the Suns and Lakers before January 15.
Christian Today said recently, the Lakers have already signed three valuable players in the team, Ed Davis, Carlos Boozer, and Jeremy Lin. Still fans are dubious as to whether the capacity of the new players could aide Kobe Bryant in bringing the team to the Playoffs this year.
