"True Blood" has ended after being on air for seven seasons. The finale showed where everyone ended up. There is a notable absence of "S for Sex" in the episode rating, with the episode focusing on "getting back to the characters and letting them have time to actually sit and talk to one another," says Entertainment Weekly.
Hollywood Reporter shares that Bill's Hep-V case progressed rapidly, but the vampire refuses the cure that is in Sarah Newlin's blood. His "readiness to die" apparently frustrates Sookie, who asks Bill to just dump her, adds Time, but Bill reportedly could not live with that. Things don't get easier for Sookie as according to Entertainment Weekly, Bill admits he is weak and wants her to kill him. The article says: "As long as he's (Bill) on the planet, he can't not be with her either because he loves her too much." Sookie's "one-time fairy light ball" will give Bill "true death," which will also result in Sookie becoming a normal human again.
Meanwhile, fans will be disappointed to know that there are no Sookie-Eric scenes on the finale. "He's staying true to who he is-a capitalist who doesn't like to trust anyone or share," Entertainment Weekly reports. Eric is not idle, though. He has cured his Hep-V sickness and concocted a plan, which involved Sarah drinking Pam's blood. Pam and Eric eventually head on to "kill a couple of Yakuza before setting Mr. Gus on fire." Eric does come close to Sookie, as he kills the Yakuza sent to her door to murder her. Entertainment Weekly also shares Sarah and Pam's fate as the two become lovers.
The wedding of Hoyt and Jessica were also given some time in the finale, adds Entertainment Weekly, as Bill wants to see his human daughter get married. "He just wants to know Jessica's 'spoken for' before he dies," the article said.
Also according to Entertainment Weekly, there was the constant worry that Bill would disintegrate into ashes any minute, and that worry almost overshadowed the breakthrough of Sookie hearing Bill's thoughts for the first time. "She heard him thinking about his happiness and his pain, and his desire to stay present and not letting anyone see the suffering. He thought about how much he loved her and how much he wanted her to have a wedding," continued the article. Hollywood Reporter also shares Bill's feelings for Sookie through his thoughts. Bill said to Sookie: "I love you, Sookie Stackhouse. I love you with everything I'm made of."
Bill's ending does not come with the use of Sookie's "ultimate kindness," however, as she decides to stake him in a coffin instead.
The story ends with a three-year time jump, according to Hollywood Reporter. In the time jump, it is Thanksgiving, Sookie is pregnant, and her husband's face is never shown. Eric and Pam have formulated "New Blood" from Sarah's blood while still running Fangtasia.
