Ellen DeGeneres and wife Portia de Rossi have managed to prove critics at least that they are stronger than over. The couple was hit with rumors of trouble in their marriage, and the television host was also rumored to have been cozy with Sofia Vergara. The allegations reportedly caused a rift between the two, and their relationship troubles was credited as one of the factors that urged de Rossi to seek rehab treatment.
As for now, all appears to be well with DeGeneres and de Rossi. Enstarz.com reported that DeGeneres even made fun of the rumors surrounding her and "Modern Family" star Sofia Vergara on Twitter after the 2014 Emmy awards. The tweet read, "Congratulations, "Modern Family! They said America wasn't ready, but you proved them wrong. Of course, I'm talking about @SofiaVergara."
Gossip Cop cited an OK! Magazine report this year, which claims that the "Arrested Development" star was resentful of the "Modern Family" vixen's friendship with her wife. A source dished to the magazine, "Portia has always thought Ellen was a little too touchy-feely with Sofia. They've fought about it before, but Ellen convinced Portia she was blowing the situation out of proportion and that the women were just good friends."
At that time, Vergara had just split with then fiancé Nick Loeb.
Classicalite said that whether these allegations are true or not, the couple has already put the divorce rumors to rest as they recently celebrated their 6th year wedding anniversary together. In another Twitter post, Ellen showed a picture of her and her wife smiling with the word "Six" drawn across the sky behind them. She added a caption, which read, "Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary. Six!"
On the other hand, someone is reminiscing the time when he was involved with a young Ellen. Ellen's reported teenage love way back from Atlanta, Texas gave his first interview about his past relationship with the TV host in Star Magazine, according to RadarOnline. Ben Heath said that even though that two of them have never consummated their relationship, he believed that the two of they might still get along despite her sexual preference.
"I feel like we would have been good friends had she stayed here, regardless of her sexual orientation," Heath had said.
RadarOnline also recalled a tell-all portion written by Randy Jernigan about Ellen's plans to settle down with Ben if not for him refusing to get married back then. She was reportedly quoted as saying, "I wanted to marry Ben desperately. I'm sure I'd have a nice place with Ben somewhere, and we'd have kids, and I wouldn't have known. I could have chosen to live my live my life in a way just to fit into society. But I would not be happy."
