In a report by TV Line early this week, executive producers Matt Corman and Chris Ord dished out major spoilers after the show's explosive summer finale. The last episode showed that Ryan was framed and shot, leaving fans wondering what that means for the character.
As to the character's fate after the incident, the showrunners did not confirmed anything.
"Well, you don't want to give it away, right?" Corman commented with a laugh.
Ryan is a major character on the show, making fans speculate that he might not be killed right away. But Corman warns fans about the possible turn of events in the upcoming episodes.
"Well, you never know on "Covert Affairs." But he's getting good medical care," said Corman. "But he was shot...I think he's in stable condition when we find him."
Another thing that makes fans look forward to in the show's upcoming episodes is what's going to happen between Annie (Piper Perabo) and Auggie (Christopher Gorham). While the two remains good friends, fans are still expecting romance between the two main characters. Furthermore, Ord explained the importance of the Annie-Auggie romance in the show's storyline.
"That relationship's the bedrock of our show," Ord explained. "There's so much between them that is meaningful that's always going to be there, whether they're just simply working together or doing more together."
Moreover, in the summer finale episode entitled "Sensitive Euro Man," which was this season's tenth, Annie assisted Ryan with a difficult mission although he is the primary suspect in the Chicago bombing and other crimes. Annie decided to give him a chance as Ryan previously claimed he was just set-up.
While Auggie is not favor of Annie's decision, the latter still proceeded with her plan.
