As "American Horror Story" successfully bagged two awards at the prestigious 66th Primetime Emmy Awards, fans grew more excited to see the series' new chapter.

At the recently concluded Primetime Emmy Awards, the horror television series won two awards: Outstanding Lead Actress in a Miniseries Award for Jessica Lange for her role as Fiona Goode, winning her third Emmy; and Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Miniseries Award for Kathy Bates for her portrayal as Madame Delphin Lalaurie.

Frances Conroy (Myrtle) and Angela Bassett (Marie) were also nominated in the same award category as Bates while Sarah Paulson was also a contender in the category won by Lange.

Meanwhile, actor Matt Bomer was confirmed to be appearing as a guest star in the show's upcoming season entitled, "American Horror Story: Freak Show." Entertainment Weekly reported that series creator Ryan Murphy made the announcement during the magazine's Emmy Party.

Murphy told EW his experience working again with Bomer. "I try to get him to do everything for me," the show creator said. "I sent him a text that said, 'First right of refusal, here's the role.' It's very ... warped."

Bomer has already worked with Murphy in the past. The actor appeared in Fox's musical series "Glee," another Ryan Murphy creation, as Blaine's (Darren Criss) brother. Bomer also starred in Murphy's HBO movie, "The Normal Heart." His performance in the movie earned him a nomination as Outstanding Supporting Actor in a TV Miniseries or Movie in this year's Emmy.

Matt Bomer will be guest starring in one of the episodes of "American Horror Story: Freak Show" but his role and character were not revealed yet.

The actor will be joining newcomers John Carroll Lynch, Michael Chiklis, Wes Bentley, Finn Witrock, Patti LaBelle, and Jyoti Amge, Christian Post reports.

Aside from Bates, Lange, Bassett, Paulson, and Conroy, also returning to the horror series are Emma Roberts, Gabourey Sidibe, and Evan Peters.

"American Horror Story: Freak Show" is set to premiere on Oct. 8 at 10 PM ET/PT on FX.
