Mathew Knowles has recently dished to a radio station about her famous daughter and her husband's purported career antics, multiple reports have picked up. Mathew, who is father to Beyonce Knowles, believes that she and Jay-Z's camp has staged the divorce rumors to garner immense popularity and sales for their "On The Run" tour.
Mathew went on Houston radio station 104.1 KRBE that the divorce rumors was a great strategy to deliberately hyped the fans, whether there is a fact to trouble in Bey and Jay-Z's marriage or not.
Daily Mail quoted Mathew's radio interview, in which he said, "I know, because we've done this. From experience, there's a tour going on. So you sometimes have to ignite that tour. It's called a Jedi mind trick. The Jedi mind trick fools you a lot."
However, when hosts Roula Christie and Ryan Chase asked if he knew about her other daughter, Solange, attacking Jay-Z in an elevator wherer a Met Gala afterparty was held, he appeared to feign indifference and has this to say, "All I know is the Jedi mind trick. Everyone's talking about it. Ticket sales went up. Solange's album sales went up 200%!"
If one would believe Mathew's controversial statements, some people would actually fall for it considering the success of "On the Run" so far. According to Forbes, "On the Run" is set to be the second successful tour of all time based on ticket sales so far at $100 million gross. Although U2 has topped the list at $736 million, the Irish band played 110 tour dates. "On the Run" has played 20 dates so far and managed to beat rock legends the Rolling Stones and AC/DC.
Beyonce and Mathew are believed to have been estranged following the father and daughter's breakup of professional ties in 2011, Daily Mail said in a separate report. Mathew had been his daughter's manager and producer since she started in the music industry.
Meanwhile, rumors about the Carters' troubled marriage were silenced when Beyonce received an MTV Video Music Award's Michael Jackson Vanguard Award, which is an award mostly similar to "Lifetime Achievement Award. The couple kissed on stage as Jay-Z welcomes an overwhelmed Bey on his arms while carrying their daughter Blue Ivy. It is safe to say that the couple is indeed happy, and considering Mathew's statement, the rumors would be shut in no time.
