The incriminating photos first surfaced on 4chan and had been caught on by several websites. Although this scandal is no doubt troubling for the actress, who has since risen from a relative unknown into an award-winning thespian, experts say that there is nothing to worry about the potential implications of the leak
Hollywood Life has an exclusive source, who allegedly said that Lawrence is horrified and "knows that this will possibly affect her upcoming roles." Lawrence purportedly knows that A-list stars avoid controversies like this from being attached to their names. However, International Business Times cited branding experts, who have said that Lawrence has nothing to fear when it comes to her career. The Academy Award-winning "Hunger Games" star will, instead, have to worry about the next scandal.
A celebrity branding expert, Jeetendr Sehdev, thinks that the victims of the hack will only be more desirable commodity and are "getting visibility in the right way."
Karen Post, author of "Brand Turnaround" and is also an international speaker, told IB Times, "She will be the butt of jokes, which will only add attention to her brand, nothing harmful, or long-term. This event will just keep them in the sexy category, which is a good thing for them."
As of now, Lawrence and the rest of the victims have already been the butt of one celebrity joke, courtesy of Ricky Gervais, shares The Sydney Morning Herald. Gervais' Twitter post read, "Celebrities, make it harder for hackers to get nude pics of you from your computer by not putting nude pics of yourself on your computer." The post has long been deleted. On the other hand, Gervais' joke appeared to have backfired, as he himself has been the talk of Twitter after fans told him not to blame the victims of the scandal, SMH said.
Despite the talks about it affecting Lawrence's career, there's one thing the scandal didn't seem to purportedly affect in the actress' life. According to Hollywood Life, rumored boyfriend Chris Martin is not worried about the leaked photos. A source told the website exclusively that Martin is "more concerned that her privacy was invaded." The source allegedly added that Martin has been very supportive and is sticking to Lawrence's side.
"It will pass, that's what he tells her. And he just uses his quirky sense of humor to help her look at the funny side," the source added.
