Jennifer Lawrence has just made a World Record, and fortunately, it's not related to her leaked private photos this time. The first two movies in "The Hunger Games" have broken the Guinness World Record for their astounding sales and Lawrence's role as Katniss Everdeen has proven record-breaking.
The Sydney Morning Herald reports the good news for the 24-year-old actress who has been at the center of a massive celebrity scandal, with allegedly over 60 of her leaked photos circulating in different websites and a Florida artist announcing their inclusion in an exhibition. According to the article, the success of the "Hunger Games" franchise has named Lawrence the Guinness World Records 2015 highest-grossing action movie heroine. Meanwhile, the second installment, "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire," is reported to have broken the highest-grossing post-apocalyptic movie with its worldwide gross income of $911 million.
According to Viral Global News, "The Hunger Games," the first movie in the franchise, earned $67.3 million on its opening day in 2012 and went to garner $152.5 million on its opening weekend.
The Guinness World Records 2015 will be released on September 11, shares Tech Times.
Lawrence is certainly a powerful celebrity judging from her recent successes. The actor has three Academy Award nominations, one Academy Award, and two Golden Globe awards to her name.
Just recently, news about Lawrence's third movie for the "Hunger Games" franchise made news with a poster for Lawrence's character, Katniss Everdeen. This is in preparation for the upcoming movie "The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part One," the first of the two-part installment of the third book in the series. Lawrence dons her Mockingjay outfit in the poster showing her back.
"Mockingjay Part One" will be coming to theaters November 21, 2014.
Despite being constantly in the headlines, the actress herself has not been seen in public or has made any personal statements following the leaked photo scandal. Mirror says that Lawrence became "the most talked about celebrity of the year," but the actor is seemingly taking a low profile. According to Mirror, Lawrence's last public event was on July 7 for Christian Dior's show at Paris Fashion Week and she was last seen out in public on August 10.
