‘Grand Theft VI’ Rumors Unconfirmed, Most Likely False; ’Grand Theft Auto V’ Comes to PlayStation 4 and Xbox One November 2014, Microsoft Windows in January 2015

Rumors seem to make their rounds lately that a Vice City-themed "GrandTheft Auto VI" is confirmed to be in the works and is due for release in 2017. However, they are apparently false.

These rumors appear in various articles. However, most of these articles, in an effort to provide a reliable source, would go on to quote Rockstar North president Leslie Benzies, who said, "We've got about 45 years worth of ideas we want to do. We don't know what GTA VI will be, but we've got some ideas."

The quote was actually taken from an article published on October 2013 by Develop, a UK-based monthly trade magazine for the video games industry, when they conducted an interview with Benzies at the Rockstar North headquarters in Edinburgh, Scotland following the release of "Grand Theft Auto V" a month earlier.

Benzies neither made a remark nor even gave a hint of a new "Grand Theft Auto" title, which makes "Grand Theft Auto VI" being in the hopper all the more unsubstantiated, not to mention that the said interview took place almost a year ago.

Meanwhile, Rockstar Games announced in a post on the Rockstar Newswire that the enhanced "Grand Theft Auto V" (GTA V) will be re-released on November 18, 2014 for the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, and on January 27, 2015 for Microsoft Windows,

The re-release was announced at the Electronic Entertainment Expo 2014 (E3 2014). This enhanced version of the game will offer visual and technical improvements such as "increased draw distances, finer texture details, denser traffic and enhanced resolutions," say a report by Polygon.

The enhanced version, according to Rockstar Newswire, will also feature enhanced radio selections with over 100 additional new songs and new DJ mixes from returning DJs across the game's 17 radio stations.

Rockstar Newswire added that gamers who will pre-order "Grand Theft Auto V" will receive $1,000,000 in-game bonus cash to spend in across all "Grand Theft Auto V" and "Grand Theft Auto Online."

In a report by NDTV Gadgets, Rockstar Games has also improved the player count for Grand Theft Auto Online: up to 30 players can be accommodated on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Moreover, all existing gameplay upgrades and contents released by Rockstar Games since the launch of Grand Theft Auto Online will also be available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Microsoft Windows.

Meanwhile, check out "A Picket Fence and a Dog Named Skip", the brand new "Grand Theft Auto V" trailer captured on PlayStation 4.

"Grand Theft Auto V", the open-world, action-adventure video game developed by Rockstar North and published by Rockstar Games, was first released on September 17, 2013 for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. It was highly anticipated, earning US $800 million in its first day and US $1 billion in its first three days, thus breaking industry sales records and becoming the fastest-selling entertainment product in history. The game is set within the fictional San Andreas and follows the activities of three felons. Because of the open-world design, players can freely roam San Andreas, which includes the Los Angeles-inspired, fictional city of Los Santos.
