Country superstar Carrie Underwood and husband Mike Fisher announced with much excitement and gratitude that a baby is on the way. This announcement was received with the same enthusiasm by fans who generously poured in congratulations after the singer broke the news on her Instagram.

"In honor of 'Labor' Day, Ace & Penny would like to make an announcement. Their parents couldn't be happier ..."

The couple was overwhelmed by the support and Fisher, a player for the NHL's Nashville Predators, never failed to express gratitude to friends and fans.

Carrie Underwood, 31, is very excited about her pregnancy, but as of now, the baby's gender is not yet known. So, the couple are not yet deciding on the name of the baby.

In a report by OK Magazine, Underwood and Fisher had been trying to get pregnant about a year and had doubts along the way. Then they received the much awaited news.

Currently, the country singer is busy with her new album and country tour. She and Mike did not make any confirmation yet as to the due date of her pregnancy.

Meanwhile, Kimberly Perry of the Band Perry shared the couple's excitement and went on to say that, "We told them we would babysit if they ever need us to, so we are here, give us a call," reported E! News.

It was also later revealed that Kimberly and siblings Neil and Reed Perry already new about the big news even before it got to the rest of the world.

"Well, you know Carrie is a dear friend of ours and she was at my wedding, she and Mike," Kimberly explained. "We actually heard the news a little bit early before the rest of the world did and we are just so thrilled for them.

"They are just such great human beings and they are going to be great parents," she added.
