After some delays over the contract negotiation of its main cast, "The Big Bang Theory" Season 8 is now set to premiere on Monday. Last season ended in a cliffhanger, where Sheldon Cooper (Jim Parsons) was about to board a train because "he was overwhelmed with all the changes that were taking place around him" as reported by International Business Times. This includes Penny (Kaley Cuoco) and Leonard (Johnny Galecki) getting engaged leaving viewers wondering if the next season would mean no Sheldon Cooper and if Penny and Leonard will get married or end the engagement.
What to Expect on Season 8
Executive producer Steve Molaro confirmed in a panel interview during the San Diego Comic Con that Sheldon did not board the train and will continue to move forward with his relationship with Amy Farrah Fowler (Mayim Bialik.) On the other hand, Penny (Kaley Cuoco) will become a pharmaceutical rep for Bernadette's company after she gave up her dream of making it big in Hollywood. And despite the "major life changes" that she will go through, her engagement with Leonard (Johnny Galecki) is safe. Latin Post also added that Penny's new job would mean that she's earning more than Leonard which will bring a new dimension to their relationship.
Sneak Peek
CBS has recently released previews for the upcoming episode one and two. Hypable believes that the theme for the two upcoming episodes are "friends butting heads" as Sheldon was forced to teach a class at the University which Howard decided to attend. Also, the brewing tension between Penny and Bernadette due to their working relationship is something to watch out for. It would also be interesting how Amy would respond to her two friends' feud.
The Big Bang Theory season 8, episodes 1 and 2, will premiere on Monday, Sept. 22 at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS.
