Zayn Malik talks about receiving family planning advice from Russell Brand, making fans faint, and realizing how famous "One Direction" is

Zayn Malik and Russell Brand met backstage at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Olympics in London, and the meeting led to Brand giving the younger singer an advice. The topic? Family planning.

The 21-year-old member of "One Direction" admitted that he was "stunned" when Brand gave him birth control tips at the event. According to STV, Malik shared this with the band's "Who We Are: Our Autobiography." In Malik's own words: "Backstage at the Olympics was one of the maddest times I've had with the band." He also spoke about Brand: "Russell was brilliant. He was saying, 'Your performance was sick.' Then he started giving me family planning advice!'"

STV also relayed Malik calling Brand a "hilarious, really nice guy."

The advice would make sense considering that Malik is already engaged to be married with Perrie Edwards from "Little Mix." This isn't the first time someone has commented on Malik's upcoming nuptials, however. STV recalls Jemima Khan also offering up some tips on July and even offering to arrange a marriage for Malik and another friend, Naughty Boy. According to Khan's advice, Malik should settle down with a good wife and avoid gold diggers.

Aside from Brand, Malik allegedly met other "crazily famous people," as his statement said, "All my life I'd seen them on TV and here they were just chatting away to us."

Adding to Malik's words on the autobiography, Unreality TV says that it was at that event that he started to realize how famous the band has become. Malik also recounted an event where a fan fainted after he touched her hand. "I couldn't process it back then.... I still can't now," Malik said.

In other related news, Malik, who shared that a part of their success is the involvement of social media sites such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter, has a viral video going on.

According to Unreality TV, the video is a shot of Malik attempting to DJ at a Las Vegas club along with Niall Horan for his 21st birthday celebration. The video has Malik making a finger gesture that has been described as "rather strange" and even "lewd." When Malik responded to a fan asking him what was going on in his mind when he did the gesture, however, Malik simply replied on Twitter that watching it made him laugh.
