There's a new engaged couple in town, and it's Erica Mena and Bow Wow, who have been dating for six months. Mena confirmed the engagement in a video, while Bow Wow chose Instagram to break the news.
Though the couple does not have plenty of public appearances in each other's arms, Mena visited "106 & Park," a show which Moss hosts, back in February. MTV recalls the couple kissing on cameras back then, and Mail Online says that that was actually the first meeting of the couple. The kiss seemed to open the door to a serious relationship for the couple, who had dated for six months before being engaged.
First to break the news to the public was the "Love & Hip Hop" star in a video while walking the green carpet for BET Hip Hop Awards on Saturday. In the video, Mail Online says Mena responded to a reporter who asked if Moss is her boyfriend. Mena's reply was, "Uh... He's actually my fiancé!"
The next day, MTV reports that rapper Bow Wow, whose real name is Shad Moss, posted an image on Instagram showing the diamond engagement ring, which Hollywood Life describes as also having a purple stone. Matching Mena's ring is Moss' diamond-encrusted Rolex watch, shares Us Magazine.
Hollywood Life adds that though there has been no more talk of the engagement, Mena has been retweeting congratulatory messages on Twitter. Aside from a romantic relationship, the two have also grown close as friends, shares the article. According to the article citing her interview video with No Judgment Zone with BlogXilla, Mena gushed about loving working with her fiancé. "I've known him for so long, we always come together and work. And it's now that we're finally at this mature stage more than anything, the great thing about me being around him is I learn so much for him."
Mena continued: "He's such a good, regular, down, guy. He's all about his family. That's rare to find. He's never once judged me, either. His friendship definitely means a lot to me. It's a big deal."
Mena is popularly known for her role in "Love & Hip Hop," while Moss is a rapper/actor and host. Moss has also apparently landed a role in "CSI: Cyber."
