The Miami Heat heads into the 2014-15 with a brand new identity after LeBron James decided to come home to Cleveland in this summer's free agency. What that identity will be remains to be seen but the big question now is can the Heat maintain their dominance in the East without LeBron and will Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh be able to carry the team in the coming season?
While James departure was a big blow to the team, reports have revealed that other players in the Miami Heat roster have been motivated to show everyone that they still have what it takes to contend in the coming season. Dwayne Wade and Chris Bosh, the new leaders of the Heat, have been working all summer long in preparation of the long grind of the season per Breathecast.com:
Dwyane Wade reportedly lost weight in preparation for a bigger offensive role on the team by trying Ray Allen's recommended paleo diet. Wade wanted to slim down so as not to cause too much stress and inflammation on his knees.
Chris Bosh has also been preparing for the upcoming season by teaming with trainer Ed Downs and Miles Simon, who claim Bosh will be coming into camp in great shape, equipped with skills and a mindset to play on the low block again.
The absence of James also gives new players an opportunity to rise and show off what they can do. Luol Deng, Danny Granger, and even Reggie Williams according to All U Can Heat will have a shot this coming season. LeBron was the Heat's statistical leader in almost every category from points, assists, to rebounds, and his absence will surely open up plenty of opportunities for every member of the Heat roster.
How far the Heat can go this coming season without LeBron James remains to be seen but one thing is for sure: James's departure has truly put a chip in everyone's shoulder and they are very eager and motivated to prove that they can till contend even without the King.
