Fans of "Supernatural" will definitely see a lot of Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) in the upcoming new season of the CW drama. His character will go through a lot, transitioning from the normal Dean, to the demon ("Deanmon" as teased in the promo trailer) that he will be.
From what it seems, his character will be sharing the same fate his brother Sam (Jared Padalecki). In the previous seasons, Sam has also shifted from his normal self to someone who is demon-like, such as in instances where he was possessed and when his demon blood overpowered him.
Moreover, what really made it hard for Ackles to play the demon, Dean, this time, is that he is also directing an episode where his evil character is a part of.
In an interview at the 2014 Vancouver Supernatural Convention, the actor shared about his experience. "It was very difficult because it was Dean but it wasn't Dean, and it was a twisted version of Dean. So, yes, to navigate that and to keep those lines somewhat clear in my mind was difficult. It's not something I've had to do before. So I struggled with it a little bit," shared Ackles.
In another interview with TVLine, he teased that Dean's new character is something fans of the show should look forward to, noting that fans can expect "little extra excitement" from it. "It's fun because he ends up being too much for Crowley to handle, so to speak," Ackles told TVLine.
He also described his character as an "ultra version of a womanizing party animal."
Meanwhile, CW Network recently released the official synopsis of "Supernatural" Season 10's premiere episode. The synopsis reads,
"DEAN IS LIVING IT UP AS A DEMON WHILE SAM HITS ROCK BOTTOM IN THE SEARCH FOR HIS BROTHER - Dean (Jensen Ackles) is a demon and running amuck with Crowley (Mark Sheppard) while Sam (Jared Padalecki) tries to figure out what happened to his brother. Meanwhile, Castiel (Misha Collins) is dealing with his diminishing grace."
"Supernatural" Season 10 premieres on Oct. 7 at 9 p.m. on The CW Network.
