Several reports claim that Blackberry Classic will be available in the market this September. BlackBerry Limited is slated to release the 'Q20' Classic alongside Passport though there's a strong likelihood that the latter will be available late this year.
There's very little information that can be known about the Classic BlackBerry, but based on alleged leaked pictures and videos in Weibo, the smartphone's dimensions will dance around 5.11 x 2.83 x .35 inches (130 x 72 x 9 mm), Christian Post wrote.
BlackBerry refused to comment on these leaked materials but they assure loyalists to their products that the device will be hemmed from "...premium materials and designed for reliability and durability."
Mobile Syrup gave some more details about this flagship device by BlackBerry: BlackBerry Classic's frame will come with an aluminum frame, and the rounded edges will resuscitate from the 'classic' design of BlackBerries which dominated the smartphone landscape in mid-2000s. A QWERTY keyboard will also bring back some memories together with an old-school "belt" of function keys - the call, menu, trackpad, back and end buttons will all be close to the screen, reported Christian Today.
The device is also expected to house powerful features and specs. Its display will be 3.5 inches with a resolution of 1440 x 1440 and a 582 ppi though some other rumors claim that it will have 720 x 720 resolution with 291 ppi.
Recently, some reports declared that it's going to be available by September 24, but Geeky Gadgets and some others could be right about their prediction that it will be visible to the public by November or even December for the holiday release. Reportedly, it will run on a dual-core 1.5 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 processor, 2GB of RAM, a microcard SD slot for a potential extra 64GB, and a 2515 mAh battery cell. Moreover, the camera of the Classic will either be 8MP or 13MP based on varied speculations.
Meanwhile, Digital Trends reported that: You just have to pull out your passport to see the dimensions of BlackBerry Passport. It's equipped with a 4.5-inch, 1,440 × 1,440 pixel resolution touchscreen display. The 453ppi pixel density makes this device definitely sharp, but BlackBerry boasts more on the device's widescreen effect which sets this smartphone to some intrigues. As matter of fact CEO John Chen himself made these sweeping claims calling the phone 'iconic' and 'a great achievement.
The BlackBerry Q20 Classic will reportedly cost $235 with a 2-year contract. On the other hand, In Canada, the Passport will go on sale today with the Telus network for $200 until the end of the month, when the price will increase to $250. In America, the price is reportedly the same with Canada with a $250 contract with AT&T or consumers can pick it up from Amazon.
