"NCIS" star Michael Weatherly has lost 35 pounds, and he has revealed the reason. Apparently the actor's swimming activities in the Pacific is to thank for his leaner frame.
The 46-year-old actor certainly does not look his age, especially after losing 35 pounds after he had started swimming in the Pacific on weekends. Weatherly shared that he had been doing the weekly routine since May, and the results were noticeable when he recently participated in a triathlon. Apparently, the actor was encouraged by "NCIS" crewmembers who trained for Nautica Malibu Triathlon, shares ET Online.
The actor, who plays "self-confident" Special Agent Anthony DiNozzo on "NCIS," has taken advantage of his Los Angeles residence and the nearby Pacific Ocean to do his laps, details Examiner.
Also according to ET Online, Weatherly considered the activity a "serious commitment." Weatherly, along with Teri Hatcher and other celebrities, completed the triathlon last September 14. Over 3000 participants had to do a one-half mile swim, proceed with 18 miles of biking, and a 4-mile run in Malibu, overall completing 22.5 miles, shares Closer Weekly.
Moreover, Examiner mentions that the triathlon was able to raise over $1,350,000 for the Children's Hospital in Los Angeles.
Though Weatherly has lost weight through swimming, the actor has revealed that he will be keeping the weight through biking and running.

The site also mentions him wanting to make his family proud. Part of the family he wishes to impress is his 10-pound son named Liam with wife Bojana Jankovic, who was born last year, shares ABC News. While Liam may not yet understand his father's initiative to get a healthier body, the actor's fans certainly do. This is according to Examiner who says that Weatherly's Twitter page was filled with congratulations for the actor.
