Sarah Drew Talks First Pregnancy Problems, Being Empowered, and Shonda Rhimes Predicting Her Second Pregnancy

It seems like Shonda Rhimes can add "fortune teller" down her list of talents as well.

Sarah Drew, who plays Dr. April Kepner on the showrunner's successful hit, "Grey's Anatomy" could have sworn that Rhimes even predicted her second pregnancy. Drew's character who is expecting her first child in the show's return for its 11th season shares that Rhimes has written about her pregnancy even before she knew she was pregnant. In an interview with Fit Pregnancy for its October-November issue, the 33-year-old quipped, "She knows everything!" regarding the talented writer (via abcnews.go.com).

Off-screen, however, Sarah is already expecting her second child with husband UCLC professor Peter Lanfer. The pair, who are already parents to two year old son Micah are absolutely thrilled to have their newest addition to their family in December.

But motherhood wasn't an easy journey for the actress. The blonde beauty shares to Celebrity Baby Scoop that her first pregnancy was a very trying moment in her life. "The first time it wasn't just the physicality, it was the emotional weight too. I was mourning the end of a massive chapter in my life."

The actress claims that she had doubts about her being a good mother and that for the first few months, she had problems breastfeeding her son. "I have these memories of bouncing on a ball and him screaming at me and me sobbing hysterically trying to get him to latch." After the counsel and support of a community of other mothers, she finally accepted that she wasn't a failure and opted to pump her milk and bottle-feed Micah.

The second time around is better for the actress, however, who describes her pregnancy as "delightful" in Sheknows.com. "....I have the example in front of me of what happens when the child comes out. And yeah, it's changed my life, but I'm really happy with the way things have changed."

"The emergence of a child opens up this well of love that you just never knew you were able to have. And it's empowering."
