By

Sad news has been learned about celebrity friends Jennifer Lopez and Leah Remini as they had been involved in a car crash last Saturday when they were heading down to Malibu. The Detroit News revealed the shocking story that the two friends were hit by a drunk driver last Saturday with Remini behind the wheel of Lopez's car and the worst part about it was that her twins were at the back of the car with Leah's daughter when the incident happened.

The accident had the driver of the truck running off when he hit J. Lo's vehicle and did not care to stop until the authorities caught up with him and got him arrested. Apparently the male driver was from Las Vegas and had hit Jennifer's car from behind as the group was about to go to Malibu, California.

Sources from contactmusic.com reveal that the male driver was identified to be a 53 year-old-man named Robert J. Reitz. As the drunk driver was arrested he was taken in for misdemeanor charges and had a $15,000 bail for his faults and is believed to have been released the day after the incident of hitting Lopez's vehicle.

Fans both of Lopez and Remini should be happy though that despite the incident that all who were inside J. Lo's SUV were unharmed and safe after the accident, that despite the culprit driving a pickup truck.

Ecumenical News even revealed that J. Lo took to Instagram, saying that everyone was doing alright. "Sitting at a light, Riding high right before some drunk fool rear ended us in my new whip!!! Thank god everyone ok!!! #GRATEFUL #THANKYOUGOD #DontdrinkandDrive!!!! #cursedthatfoolout #theBronxcameout #dontmesswithmycoc[o]nuts #mamabear #leahstayedcalm #thatwasweird".

It is indeed a grateful event that the whole lot with J. Lo are safe and sound, especially the three kids inside the vehicle whom J. Lo even took a video with the caption, "These three cuties make my day!! #Coconuts #Sofia #lunchwthekiddies #bigpimpin' #brooklynindahouse".
