We don't hear as much about the "Real Housewives of Melbourne" in comparison to the many, many "Real Housewives" in the United States, but rest assured- Australian socialtes are just as reality-TV crazy as the ones in the US.
Case in point- on a recent episode of "Real Housewives of Melbourne," several of the housewives were auditioning a burlesque dancer for an upcoming party. The New York Observer has more details, which involve four separate women bending over and playing various musical instruments, all wearing extremely little clothing.
In the end, the Housewives were so enamored with these strange, unsettling dancers that all four burlesque performers were hired. Which either says something about the quality of the burlesque dancers, or the tastes of the "Real Housewives."
In other "Real Housewives" news, a portion of the cast of the Melbourne-set series popped into to an art gallery in Sydney for a few cocktails and a public appearance. The Daily Mail has more, detailing the many outfits of the four "Real Housewives" who were in attendance (spoiler: a lot of gold, a lot of silver, a lot of sequins, and a lot of accessories).
As well, the Daily Telegraph has quotes from one "Real Housewife," Gamble Breaux, about the art gallery appearance.
"It was fantastic," said Breaux. "To bring the girls out to meet the Sydney socialites was so much fun. The girls loved it. It was just an amazing night. I'm pretty excited."
"It was just a get together for us girls," she later added. "It was just a social event, we can't give too much away but there were a few canapés and a little bit of drama."
However it's not all glamour and good times, and Breax detailed some of her more negative experiences on the show. "I thought I knew what I was getting into," she said. "It's been a lot of fun but there's also a lot of real conflict and a lot that I'm not used to. It has been very intense at times."
