Complex Magazine features South Korean music artist and idol group Big Bang's Taeyang. The September 27 issue of the magazine describes the K-Pop star as "a star in his own right," mentioning his "well-earned reputation in K-Pop circles as the genre's best R&B singer and dancer."
The feature by Complex, which was titled "Taeyang talks 'Rise', Individuality in K-Pop, and Life after YG Entertainment," talked about the Big Bang member's career, K-Pop, his favorite American artists, as well as his plans for the future.
The magazine's interview with Taeyang focused on his successful album "Rise," which has been receiving positive reviews and has topped the iTunes album charts in 10 countries since its release in June.
When asked about why it took him four years to release "Rise" after his last solo album, Taeyang answered, "There were definitely demands from the company. So it took longer to complete the project."
"We ended up making a diverse array of tracks. And those that were approved became part of the album," he added.
The K-Pop star also suggested that he is very much satisfied with the release of the album, yet there are some feelings of regret because he was not able to "put all the songs I've worked on."
Meanwhile, AllKpop recently reported about Taeyang's group Big Bang's concert tour in Japan. According to the report, the K-Pop group has added 3 more dates to their performances in Osaka.
The additional three shows dated January 16th, 17th, and 18th next year make a total of 14 shows in five of the country's key cities. According to Music Times, this is "fairly impressive considering the number of bands that are 'big in Japan.'"
AllKPop noted that the group will be "the first overseas to hold a five-dome tour for two years in a row" and "the first artist ever to hold 7 concerts at the Kyocera Dome in just a one-tour period."
"All the members are looking forward to meeting the fans through the Japanese dome tour this year as well," said Big Bang leader G-Dragon in a statement. "We're working hard to put on an even more sophisticated and powerful stage than last year, so please look forward to it. At the end of this year, we hope you make the hottest place on earth with us."
The tour will kick off on November 15th and 16th at the Nagoya Dome.
