'Dance Moms' Finale: Abby Lee Miller Abandons Her Students for 'Jimmy Kimmel Live' Appearance

By

Last night brought the first of two halves of the "Dance Moms" season 4 finale. And the first half, entitled "Hollywood, Here We Come, Part 1," did not disappoint.

Unless the very idea of "Dance Moms" disappoints you, in which case, yes, the finale probably did disappoint.

But to "Dance Moms" fans, the first half of this finale was big news. Finale are here! And according to Celeb Dirty Laundry, things were deadly serious.

First, Abby Lee MIller took the girls aside and told them how this goes down- Finals is about making stars. And if you're not a star, you're not that important. So she held some auditions and picked a couple of top girls to show off their solo dance moves.

First up is Christy, who does a jazz piece called "My Name in Lights." Next is Christi, who might have a leg injury, but is still doing a piece entitled "Soaring," a contemporary dance number. And the last girl to get a solo is Kamryn, who'll be doing a second contemporary number, called "This is the Start."

This was kind of a shock. As International Business Times reports, Maddie Ziegler is Miller's star pupil, and Ziegler didn't get a solo! But apparently, that's because she's been busy with all her public appearances- most notably, a guest spot on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." That's a pretty big deal for a tiny dancer.

But then, according to Reality Tea, Miller skipped the rest of the competition to watch Ziegler perform on "Jimmy Kimmel Live." The parents were not happy with that ("not happy" being the understatement of the year), and we're guessing that the second half of the finale is going to have a mob of irate moms gunning for MIller's head.

Sounds like fun.
