"The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" Spoilers: Smaug is a "Killing Machine," Peter Jackson Wants to Kill Off Multiple Characters

By

In just a few short months, "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies" will be in theaters. And though anyone who's read the original "The Hobbit" book would know all the major plot developments that'll be coming in the final "Hobbit" film, not everything has been spoiled just yet.

Since Peter Jackson has been inserting a lot of obscure and original material into the "Hobbit" trilogy, there's plenty of details that'll come as a surprise once the film is in theaters.

Jackson has been hinting for a while that he wants to kill off a number of major characters in the final film. Speaking at Comic-Con a few months ago, Jackson revealed the following (which we know via Enstars):

"It's always great when you can kill off some main characters," said the "Hobbit" director. "You have the chance to do something powerful and emotional. We do get to kill a few of them this time around."

As well, a previous article in Enstars alleges that Sauron, the primary villain from the original "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, may be returning to this final "Hobbit" film. It's not known in what capacity he'll be returning (and keep in mind- for now, this is just speculation), but Enstars claims he may fight (and be defeated by) the White Council.

IGN also spoke to Dave Clayton, the animation supervisor on "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," about the role of Smaug in the film. Here's what Clayton said:

"You know, in Desolation of Smaug it was more his personality, his paranoia...This time around he is going to be a killing machine in Lake Town."

Clayton also revealed that the scene of Smaug wreaking havoc upon Lake Town will be the first scene of the film, and will be a major battle.

Check back soon for the latest news on "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies."
