Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi seem to be in a happier place now with Portia landing a role in hit TV series "Scandal" and rumors of the two expecting a baby.
After months of being the target of divorce rumors, the duo seemed to have finally made a 360 degree turn to save their marriage. And having a baby is reported to be a part of their recovery plan.
According to CelebrityDirtyLaundry, news of Portia's pregnancy first broke after a shot of the pair showed Ellen lovingly holding her wife's stomach. And while this may be insufficient proof to support these rumors, Portia was reported to have gained 10 pounds and is already sporting a baby bump!
The 41-year-old actress has always been vocal in wanting a child but the talk show host didn't see eye to eye with her before about the issue. A source claiming to be close to the pair, however, spilled to Star Magazine (via The Inquistr) that Ellen did not agree to have a baby because she really wanted one. Rather, the 56-year-old thought that it was a sure way to make their relationship more stable.
"The truth of the matter is, the baby wasn't an attempt to save the relationship. Ellen felt that because of the change they had both made, they were already in a good place. She told Portia that she feels a baby is a missing piece of their puzzle and would unite them forever."
Whether this may be true or not, however, the couple definitely seemed to be even closer now. Enstarz reports that Rossi, who has recently joined Twitter, is even revealing more things about herself to her wife. Last Thursday, the "Scandal" star shared a "Throwback Thursday" picture of her parents on their wedding day. She captioned it with "Have you seen this @TheEllenShow? A pic of my parents wedding for #throwbackthursday" to which Ellen jokingly replied "Wow. I'm learning so much about my wife on Twitter."
Portia has recently joined the cast of "Scandal" where she will be playing the part of a politics powerhouse. In an interview with E!Online, the actress good-naturedly quipped that she was really happy after show creator Shonda Rhimes picked up her phone after much begging from her. "She finally took the call and we have a meeting and she came up with a magnificent character for me and I could not be happier. Shonda Rhimes is a genius."
Well, here's to hoping that the couple stays in their happy place for good.
