Gina Carano, Ronda Rousey UFC match not happening this year due to schedule conflicts in films with Robert DeNiro and WWE Dave Bautista; Match to be possible next year?

By

In an interview with MMAFighting, Gina Carano's Manager, Scott Karp said that Carano would be unable to fight this year. He goes on to say that Carano will be filming two films at the end of this year including one with Robert DeNiro and WWE Wrestler, Dave "Batista" Bautista.

It seems fans will have to wait for Gina Carano to fight again, since she hasn't fought in five years and has a record of 7 wins and 1 loss. There have been numerous talks going on for Carano to face-up against current UFC Women's Bantamweight Champion Ronda Rousey who has a record of 10-0 in the UFC.

The UFC has been in talks with both athletes and their wishes to fight against each other and it seems that this is a big loss for the UFC and its president, Dana White who has also been in close talks with both Rousey and Carano over the past few months. It is also important to note that Carano was pretty much the reason why Women's MMA is as popular today since her fights that would air in CBS would get over a million viewers everytime.

But for fans of Carano, this is a good sign since her movie career is definitely climbing higher especially after her movie "Haywire" in 2012 which received favorable reviews from both critics and the public as well.

As for the champ, Ronda Rousey will be fighting Cat Zingano who took a very convincing win against Amanda Nunes in last month's UFC 178. The Ronda Rousey and Cat Zingano fight will be held at UFC 182 in Las Vegas on January 3, 2015.

But this isn't the end for the dream fight just yet since the fight between Gina Carano and Ronda Rousey can still happen next year if the 'stars align' so to speak.
