Another idol withdrawal: Lee Joon is no longer a member of MBLAQ, but will take part in the group's concert 'MBLAQ's Curtain'

MBLAQ's member Lee Joon has withdrawn from the popular K-pop group. His contract has recently expired with J.Tune Camp and the idol is reportedly not planning to renew it. The reason Lee decided not to renew his contract is because he wants to focus on his career as an actor, Allkpop reports.

Insiders suggest that while the idol's contract has already expired, he will still take part in MBLAQ's upcoming concert, "MBLAQ's Curtain Call." The concert is scheduled on November 29th and 30th.

According to Allkpop, there is no update yet as to whether the remaining members' group promotions will be pushed through after the concert, which will be Lee Joon's last performance with the goup.

Daily Kpop News said the news brings light to previous rumors that the idol group will be going on hiatus after their November concert. The website also mentioned that the members are reportedly enlisting with the military.

Recently, it was confirmed that the idol-turned actor will be part of the cast of MBC's new drama "Mr. Baek." According to Korea Herald, he will play Choi Da-han, son of actor Shin Ha-kyun's character.

The idol, who made his debut in 2009 with MBLAQ's single album, "JUST BLAQ," has shown his impressive acting skills in several Korean dramas and films. He appeared in "Jungle Fish," "Irish 2," "Ninja Assassin," and "Gap-dong," which is his most recent tvN drama.

Lee Joon also shocked fans with his role in "Rough Play," where he had an intense sex scene and revealed his behind. This has made news because it is not usual for K-pop idols to play mature roles that involve adult scenes.

His performance as Oh Young in the movie earned him the "Best Male Newcomer" award at the 1st Wild Flower Film Festival this year, as well as a nomination for the same award in the 50th Baeksang Arts Awards.

MBLAQ, which stands for "Music Boys Live in Absolute Quality," was created by South-Korean superstar Rain under J.Tune Camp. The group consists of Lee Joon, Cheondung, G.O, Seungho, and Mir, and popularized songs such as "Mona Lisa," "Can't Come Back," and "This is War."
