Ray Allen has yet to make an announcement regarding his future in the NBA but if he does decide to make a final run at another championship this coming season, he will more likely join his former Heat teammate LeBron James in Cleveland.
Allen though, is the best free agent left in the market and is coveted around the league for his veteran leadership and clutch shooting. With that being said, numerous teams in the NBA will surely make a run at him. Aside from the Cavs who have been courting Allen since landing LeBron, the Spurs, Wizards, Thunder, and Bulls are among the teams reportedly interested in the sharpshooter. You can now add the Milwaukee Bucks in the long list of Allen suitors as the team has contacted their former star for a chance to end his career in Brew City according to J. Michael of CSNWashington:
Six teams have actually contacted his reps since he became an unrestricted free agent - the Wizards, Cleveland Cavaliers, San Antonio Spurs, Chicago Bulls, Oklahoma City Thunder and .... the Milwaukee Bucks. Yes, the latter is not a mistake. Allen spent the first six-plus seasons of his career in Milwaukee, and the franchise's pitch was a chance to end things where they began. Creative and worth a shot? Yes. Did it work? No.
You can also add the Bucks in the list of teams who failed to land the services of Allen who still has to make a decision regarding his future in basketball. Allen is reportedly contemplating retirement but the Boston Celtics President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge believes that the veteran shooter could be waiting until All-Star break or January before he signs with a team.
"He may wait until All-Star break or January," Ainge said during his weekly call-in to 98.5 the Sports Hub via CSNNE. "And just see what teams are playing well, which teams are the healthiest and which team that he thinks that he might fit in, just in the style of play. With new coaches at some different places, he may just want to see how it unfolds before he makes a decision."
Ray Allen is known to maintain great shape which means he could definitely play for another full season at the age of 40. He already has won a couple of NBA championships though and is already sitting at the top of the NBA's list in most three pointers made in history which means he has nothing to prove. He could just could be waiting until the All-star break or in January before he makes the decision to come back in the NBA as what Ainge suggests.
