Although very little is known about the upcoming fifth installment of 'Transformers,' Paramount assures fans that next one is going to be big and the changes will be sweeping, Cinemablend reported.
In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Bay said that "It's kind of like a new 'Transformers.' We had three, the first trilogy, and this is going to be the next one... I'm not necessarily sure that I'm doing [the others], but that's what it's meant for," reported Enigma's Movies.
The franchise is undergoing some challenges for many reasons and one of these is the departure of some of the most important people oh the franchise. First, Michael Bay, who is allegedly working on a documentary on elephant poaching, quits as director, reported USA Today. Other known and beloved cast members are most likely going to be absent still in 'Transformers 5.' Shia LaBeouf and Megan Fox have almost been forgotten, and Mark Wahlberg never intended to do any more than one movie.
"There's kind of a new chapter, a new direction in movies I want to make. I have a lot of stories to tell. And it's about flexing new muscles."
Michael Bay rules the surveys despite all the critics and dissatisfied moviegoers have to say about him. 'Transformers: Age Of Extinction,' albeit poor domestic income as compared to other 'Transformers' installments, managed to give him a billion dollars internationally-and he might be ready to pass on the baton and call the robots quits, reported Cinemablend.
Then there are these rumors about the new 'Transformers' movie to be inspired by 'Beast Wars,' reported Air Herald. Correspondingly, the Beast era will be in a distant future long after Generation One and Age of Extinction. The next sequel would be set in an Earth like planet where Autobots and Decepticons continue to wage an enormous battle.
The two warring teams will be called Maximals and Predacons accordingly, based on 'Beast Wars' comics and cartoons. Optimus Prime for example becomes Optimus Primal, Bumblebee become Cheetor (a Cheetah like beast). From the Decepticon/Predacon faction, StarScream is now Terrasaur and Blackout is Tarantulus, wrote Air Herald.
However, nothing is set and final at this point and we have more hypotheses than hard facts about the fifth installment. One of the cast in the previous sequel Peter Cullen (Optimums Prime) still hopes that Michael Bay, as it did in the past, will change his mind and continue the 'Transformers' saga.
