In a report made my National Report dated three weeks ago, new robots will surface and pave way for the new era of transformers, especially Rodimus prime who is said to take the center stage, while suggesting that Optimus Prime will die.
This news was claimed to be structured from an exclusive interview with Hollywood director Micheal Bay, who actually said none of those things. It was actually a satire publication that understandably enraged the fans.
The report said:
Title: Michael Bay On Transformers 5: "Optimus Dies, Rodimus Rules."
"Pressed for more details Bay revealed this: "Optimus Prime has served his time. He is old news. He dies heroically in battle, but it is time for leadership to be passed on to a new generation. We will be introducing a new Autobot known as Hot Rod. He is young and hip and sometimes doesn't think things through, just like Bumblebee. But he will have to learn how to lead what remains of the Autobots against Galvatron and his army of Decepticons."'
Aside from this, there have also been plenty of speculations as to how this sequel will proceed. Many believed that the storyline will revolve around Optimus Prime as he confronts his makers known as the Quintessons.
"'They are less than pleased to see him and well I can't give you the whole movie. But that is where he meets Hot Rod who later becomes Rodimus Prime.' said Bay."
Although the article is a provocative hoax, there is still a possibility that such a robot will make an appearance in transformers 5. There could really be a Rodimus Prime along with other two robots named Unicron and Vector Prime as presented in the so-called Transformers Facebook page
There are also theories that sprang out that the sequel will be set in Cybertron as 'Age of Extinction' closed the story by Optimus travelling into space. However, producer Lorenzo de Bonaventura divulged that it might be the contrary. There is a strong likelihood that the saga will continue to unfurl in the nest of human species, not in space.
The avatar Galvatron, the new and fortified Megatron, is also believed to make a comeback in 'Transformers 5 and will launch a catastrophic attack against humans and the autobots.
In addition, there have also been circulating rumors that Megan Fox and Shia LeBeouf are going to be featured in the sequel. This, however, was not received with confirmation or anything that would strengthen the conjectures by the actors since 'Transformers 5' will have a complete make over of the cast for the franchise's new direction to trek.
'Transformers 4: Age of Extinction' undeniably became a box office hit earning 100M in the first week of its US release, but it did not receive much praise, to say the least, from critics. The negative reviews pointed to the over stimulation of the senses through excessive use of technical and the absence of a meaningful plot, and human characters almost thrown into insignificance.
