How would you feel if the iconic sidekick of the Dark Knight is played by a female actor? TIME and other major publications have reported that an extra in the film had spilled the beans to an NBC news affiliate that Ben Affleck's Batman will be aided by a female sidekick.
Malone is no alien to playing feisty characters. She famously graced the silver screen as the troubled Rocket in the Zack Snyder action film "Sucker Punch." She is also expected to appeared on "Hunger Games: Mockingjay" installments as the feisty Johanna Mason after debuting her character on "Catching Fire", according to her IMDb profile.
TIME observed that Malone's new locks might have already confirmed her participation in the film. On October 4th, she tweeted a photo of herself in raven locks and added a caption that read, "Drastic times call for drastic measures."
The Independent said that if the signs are to be believed, Malone might be playing Carrie Kelley, the female Robin in the alternate universe played in the 1986 comic book "Batman: The Dark Knight Returns." Coincidentally, Snyder is also directing the superhero flick.
Meanwhile, another actor has somewhat confirmed his role in the highly-anticipated film. Screenrant reported that "Game of Thrones" actor Jason Momoa teased fans about his link to the "tattooed, Hawaiian" Arthur Curry supposedly envisioned for the film.
Walker Stalker Con quoted the actor, who added, ""As a Polynesian, our gods are tied to water, so this means something special."
Screenrant also said that Momoa's hulking presence television and in his recent indie film might have convinced Snyder to actually direct a solo film based on his Aquaman character. However, the site cautioned that this news, along with other supposed "signs" and "insider knowledge" about Momoa's appearance on the screen as Aquaman should be taken with a grain of salt.
"[W]hile Momoa may fit the bill given his size, appearance, and previous roles, we would hope that it's not the basis for his casting. Only time will tell, but if Momoa is making up for all those months of keeping tight-lipped, more details may arrive soon," Screenrant explained.
