It seems there is no stopping 2NE1 in conquering the international entertainment scene. The widely popular K-pop female group will soon be featured in hit American TV show "America's Next Top Model," KpopStars reports.
It was reported earlier this year that the "I Am the Best" singers will be appearing in the season finale of the model search's present cycle. The recent episode of the show teased the K-pop group's appearance as the cast and crew travelled to South Korea.
YG United took to Twitter to break the news. "A very short part of 2NE1's performance on 'America's Next Top Model' was already shown in this week's episode of the show," the Twitter user wrote. "I believe I saw CL."
This is not the first time 2NE1 has appeared on U.S. television. Early this year, the group appeared as guests on the "The Bachelor," featuring Juan Pablo Galavis. The group taught guests the choreography of their hit song "I Am the Best" which eventually ranked Number 3 on the America's Electronic singles chart on iTunes and number 1 in Canada, according to YG-Life.
The iconic song, which was released on June 2011, also recently gained attention as radio stations in New York and Boston have started playing the song several times, Billboard reports. The song was also used in the commercial of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 tablet laptop.
Recently, "I Am the Best" topped Billboard's World Digital Songs chart and reached 100 million YouTube views.
Meanwhile, new reports claim that the group will be making their comeback and that they will not appear in year-end music award shows. A representative from YG Entertainment said, "Though they've received a number of offers for music award ceremonies, we respectfully declined."
"Park Bom is still reflecting, so we ask for your understanding," added the rep. The 2NE1 member was recently hound by controversies involving illegal drugs.
"2NE1 cannot put on a show without Park Bom. However, besides that, Park Bom is not participating in any other domestic schedules. She is currently taking time to self-reflect. Please support them until they make their comeback. They will make a good album and come back as 2NE1."
CL, who will be debuting in the U.S. as solo artist next year, is reportedly performing in the upcoming Style Icon Awards (SIA) on October 28, sharing the stage with American DJ Diplo.
