"Crimson Peak" trailer will come very soon, according to director Guillermo del Toro who said that there is still a long way to go for his "creepiest film yet" starring Tom Hiddleston, Jessica Chastain, Charlie Hunnam, and Mia Wasikowska.
Talking to Clevver TV, del Toro shared that though there is still a year of waiting before the film is slated to be shown, a teaser could be expected very soon. In del Toro's own words, "We're going to start with a teaser and then start campaigning early next year. We still have a long way to go."
According to Fashion & Style, an earlier preview of the movie has already been released at the San Diego Comic-Con last summer, with Hiddleston voicing over the footage. There is no news on whether the voice-over footage will be included in the upcoming teaser.
Expectations are high for what is anticipated to be del Toro's scariest film to date, shares KDramaStars. According to the article, Hiddleston himself felt "so creeped out" and "got teary eyed" after reading the script. This is revealed by co-star Chastain via MTV interview with Josh Horowitz, saying that Hiddleston emailed him to say that he was crying. Chastain revealed that Hiddleston allegedly gets teary eyed when frightened. Chastain herself has admitted that the film was scary, though she did not share any of her thoughts when reading the script.
"Crimson Peak" is described by Screenrant to be about a budding author who flees from divided attention between a stranger and friend and a recent family tragedy. "By some twist of fate, she finds herself drawn to the eerie old house whose dark secrets comprising its long history have brought it to life," continues KDramaStars. The website io9, who has seen the first "bloody" footage of the film, testifies to it being del Toro's "most lovely and disturbing film yet." Apparently the scenery and the atmosphere of the film add to its appeal.
Aside from "Crimson Peak," Movie Pilot reports that del Toro is busy with a "Pacific Rim" sequel along with writing a script for "Justice League Dark."
