Fans of the "Transformers" movie franchise have more reason to celebrate as it was recently announced that the movie's fifth instalment will be released in 2016. According to an article by Channel24, Paramount has announced that "Transformers 5," will be coming in two year's time.

Director Michael Bay has previously revealed that "Transformers: Age of Extinction" will have two more follow-up films. Bay explained that "Age of Extinction" is the first of a new movie trilogy. He, however, noted that he is not sure if he will be doing the other sequels.

Fans of the sci-fi movie were surprised after an article from a satirical publication spread online, suggesting that Bay would kill Optimus Prime in "Transformers 5" and "Rodimus Prime" will replace the Autobot's fan-favorite captain.

A part of the article by National Report reads, "Pressed for more details Bay revealed this: 'Optimus Prime has served his time. He is old news. He dies heroically in battle, but it is time for leadership to be passed on to a new generation. We will be introducing a new Autobot known as Hot Rod." Bay later added, "...who later becomes Rodimus Prime."

The article was immediately considered a hoax. However, there are also rumors that "Rodimus Prime" could very appear in the upcoming sequel, but others claim that does not necessarily mean the death of Optimus Prime.

Meanwhile, The Hollywood Reporter wrote that Paramount will also be releasing in 2016 "Paranormal Activity 5," "Beverly Hills Cop," "GI Joe 3," "Hansel and Gretel 2," and "Star Trek 3."

The studio will also release "The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water" in 3D, "Hot Tub Time Machine 2" and "The Gambler," starring Mark Wahlberg. Paramount also hinted on Michael Bay's "Project Almanac," a movie about a group of high school students who make a time machine.
