They lost, 109-104, at their home, after their offense went cold in the fourth quarter and their defense gave up 51.7 percent shooting from the Mavs. Defense remains an issue for the young, emerging Pelicans squad and they will have to do a better job on that side of the floor if they want to become a real threat in the West. Anthony Davis, though, has continued to play like an All-Star and the Pelicans will need another monster night from him if they want to come up with a win against the Grizzlies in their own home. He scored 31 points, grabbed 16 rebounds, made 3 blocks and 2 steals in 43 minutes against the Mavs.
Grizzlies Scourting Report: The Memphis Grizzlies are off to a perfect start (3-0) for the first time in franchise history, but all their three W's did not come in pretty fashion. They were all typical grit and grind Grizzlies games. The team is relying more on All-Star Marc Gasol on offense. He scored a career-high 32 points in their opening match against the Timberwolves. Forward Zach Randolph. meanwhile, has proven to be an all around player with three consecutive triple doubles.
Analysis: The Grizzlies have continued to rely on Marc Gasol and Zach Randolph and the pairing has never failed to deliver so far early in the season. They should have their hands full, however, against the young, athletic, and talented duo of Davis and Asik. The big man pairing that shines the most should be the one to carry their team to a victory Tuesday night.
